Center Teodoro Romero (202-C-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Arce, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 25 rebounds, while his team The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Arce is placed at 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga Superior. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Arce will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 8-4 record. Romero has many years of experience at Arce, through which he has constantly improved. Teodoro Romero has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.6ppg) and averages impressive 3.3bpg and 54.2% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was American Dewan White (193-G) of Nejapa. White had a very good evening with a double-double of 38 points and 19 rebounds. It was enough for Nejapa to edge slightly higher-ranked Arce (#2, 8-4) 71-67. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Nejapa consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Nejapa managed to get this year. White is a newcomer at Nejapa, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Harrison Rieger (193-F-98) of Juayua (#3). Rieger scored 19 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Rieger's great performance Juayua lost 69-73 to #1 ranked San Marcos. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Juayua needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Rieger has a great season in El Salvador. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.3ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 15.5rpg (2nd best) and assists with 3.3apg (4th best). He also has 2.6spg and 3.1bpg.
